PERSONAL HISTORY
Dr. Brody-Camp was born in Boston and grew up in Providence, Rhode Island. While she was always a dedicated student, from a young age, she developed an interest in creative arts. Throughout her childhood and adolescence, she was often found drawing, painting, or developing her photographs in the darkroom. Additionally, she has always found peace and inspiration from nature and spending time outdoors.
As an undergraduate at McGill University, Dr. Brody-Camp decided to try a hands-on anatomy class. She was captivated by the complexity of the human body and looked forward to each day in the cadaver lab. She then served as an anatomy lab teaching assistant the following year. This experience shaped her decision to pursue a career in medicine. While in medical school at Tulane, she found that her love for anatomy could be translated into a career in surgery. She particularly loved the intricacies of the head and neck and thus went on to complete her residency in otolaryngology. This was followed by a fellowship in facial plastic surgery, which allowed for the continued study of complex anatomy and the expression of creativity.
While in medical school at Tulane, Dr. Brody-Camp met her husband, Dan. They share a love for the outdoors, animals, food, and podcasts. Originally from Colorado, Dan convinced her this was where they should settle after completing their respective medical training. Since moving here, they have loved getting to know the beautiful surroundings with their two dogs, Hank and Lily. Dr. Brody-Camp continues to pursue her creative endeavors and, over the last two years, has become an avid potter.
