Dermatology Nurse Practitioner
Janette Fant is a nurse practitioner specializing in medical and aesthetic dermatology. She enjoys working with patients to create customized treatment regimens for skin conditions like acne, rosacea, eczema, and hair and scalp issues. Having suffered from acne as a teenager and young adult, Janette understands how difficult these serious and often chronic conditions can affect a person’s image and confidence. Her specialties also include aesthetic treatments, like neuromodulators, filler, and pro-aging skin regimens.
Janette graduated from Queens University of Charlotte with a bachelor’s degree in Spanish and health. She taught 9th and 10th-grade Spanish before starting an accelerated nursing program at the University of Southern Maine in 2006. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2007 and began her career in gastroenterology at the Medical University of South Carolina. She then shifted into the emergency department, where her true love of nursing flourished. Janette traveled the country as a travel RN for over 7 years, from Palo Alto, California, to Washington D.C. She finally landed in Atlanta, Georgia, where she decided to pursue her Master of Science in Nursing at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She is accredited with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She started her career as a nurse practitioner in dermatology in 2018 and has continued to learn and love it more every year.
PERSONAL HISTORY
Growing up, Janette lived in many different states and values all the connections and friendships she made along the way. She played many sports all year-round and started playing the flute at age 10. She eventually went on to become first chair in the state of Georgia and even played for the Ole Miss marching band for two years before transferring to Queens University in Charlotte.
Janette moved to Colorado Springs in 2022, after she and her husband made the decision to seek out the wide-open sky and outdoor opportunity. From hiking through the Andes Mountains in Bolivia, to horseback riding through Iceland, Janette has always loved the outdoors. Luckily, her young son and two huge dogs like being active outside as much as she does! When she isn’t learning about new aesthetic techniques and products, Janette enjoys Pilates, yoga, and cross-country skiing.
