Dermatology Physician Assistant
Hope Allen is a board-certified physician assistant with a special interest in using dermoscopy to assess skin lesions and evaluate cases of suspected skin cancer.
Hope was born and raised in Colorado Springs. She obtained her associate of science degree from Pikes Peak Community College while still in high school. She went on to earn her bachelor of arts from the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs. Hope then moved to Florida and worked as a medical assistant at a dermatology practice before completing her master’s in physician assistant studies at the University of Florida.
Hope has a passion for medical dermatology with an emphasis in dermoscopy and the diagnosis of skin cancer. She also has an interest in holistic patient care. Her master’s thesis research topic was “The effects of probiotics on psoriasis.”
Hope is a nationally certified physician assistant. She is a member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants, American Academy of Physician Assistants, and the Colorado Academy of Physician Assistants.
Hope is a Colorado Springs native who obtained her master’s level education as a physician assistant at the University of Florida.
After completing her master’s degree, Hope and her husband Jim, an urgent care physician assistant, moved back to Colorado Springs to live near family, set down roots, and enjoy the mountains.
Hope has a passion for mission trips and community outreach using her knowledge of medicine to give back to those in need, both locally and abroad.
In her free time, Hope enjoys sharing meals with family and friends and being active with CrossFit and hiking. Hope and her husband have two yellow labs named Summer and Shadow who they enjoy taking on hikes with them.
